Less noise, more signal

Dr Jamie Carey
MBBS (Hons), Master of Psychiatry, FRANZCP
I’m a psychiatrist based in Melbourne, working with adults navigating challenges such as difficulty focusing, low mood, anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm. Many of my patients wonder whether they may have ADHD, anxiety, or depression, and are seeking clarity, direction, and support.
I completed my psychiatry training at The Alfred, one of Melbourne’s leading tertiary hospitals. During this time, I was appointed Principal Registrar in Psychiatry — a leadership role that included mentoring junior doctors, contributing to hospital-wide quality and safety initiatives, and planning and delivering psychiatry education programs across the hospital.
To keep care accessible and flexible, I offer assessment and ongoing management in person, via telehealth, or a combination of both.
About Me
Quality mental health care is collaborative and grounded in both evidence and a deep respect for individual experience. I aim to understand the patterns behind your concerns — how they developed, how they affect your life, and what might help shift them.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, scattered, or simply not yourself, psychiatric care can offer a path to greater stability, perspective, and self-understanding.
My Approach
I offer in-person consultations in South East Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, as well as telehealth anywhere in Australia.
